Tesco superstores promised to address road safety when building their Congleton store

After a number of complaints about the incomplete crossing on Clayton By-Pass and the treacherous road crossing, Simon has held a meeting with the regional manager for Tesco, who committed themselves to building the crossing as part of their Congleton store. After pushing them, Simon has established that the new crossing will be open withing two months.

"Many elderly residents in my Ward have to cross this particularly busy road and many of my constituents have said to me that they want this crossing operational. I do not want Tesco to wake up only when someone gets hurt by the traffic here, I await action from those at Tesco."
