Congleton Liberal Democrats are holding their Adoption Meeting this Friday, 16th April at the Chimney House Hotel, Sandbach. It will start at 7pm. The Press are cordially invited.
Baroness Joan Walmsley, Liberal Democrat candidate for Congleton in 1997, our Local Party President and Spokesperson in the Lords on Education will be present and speak.
Dr Peter Hirst, Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency comments, "It is a great honour for us, that Baroness Walmsley has taken take time out of her busy schedule to visit us and give us some of her valuable experience.
"The meeting will get the formal stage of our campaign off to a fantastic start. We will all be raring to get out on the streets to get our message over to the electorate."
He continues, "This is going to be a very close contest. Voters have lost confidence in Labour and are disappointed with local Conservatives, I am the only person able to prevent another Conservative Member of Parliament in this Constituency.
"The message I am receiving on the door step is that people are seriously considering switching their allegiance for a variety of reasons to the Liberal Democrats," he concludes.
