Parking Charges Take Their Toll

Guy Redmond of No2ParkingCharges has issued the following statement and letter from a local small business owner to highlight the impact of the newly imposed charges on our car parks.
We have included this letter here to show our support for the No2ParkingCharges' Campaign to reinstate free parking in our town centres.
"Members of the Media,
"I have included an e-mail below a typical message we have been receiving from disenchanted Tory voters in Congleton. They feel totally fatally down by the Tory run Cheshire East Council and the only way they feel they can communicate this to the council leadership is at the ballot box. The e-mail below says it all and we have had many similar messages written and spoken!! Congleton really is no longer a Tory safe seat.
"We have permission from the author of the e-mail to send his letter to the press.

"The councils implementation of the parking charges in Congleton, and especially the amateur way in which it was achieved will be the ONLY factor in how I vote in the election. I am disgusted at there behaviour and have spent every opportunity telling everyone and anyone that they have a chance to make a difference through the ballot box. I have since the introduction of parking charges not used a local car park once, I have walked into town every day to work, even though this has implications for carrying work related items, it is a matter of principle. I have monitored the short stay car parks on a regular basis and am shocked at the lack of cars that are on it, it has def had an impact on the volume of people in the town, which as also had an impact on our trade.
"Roll on the election when we can let them know how angry we are. It would be good for a full list of those councillors involved in this farce to be named so everyone knows who they are. I am also planning to show some form of demo at my local polling station on the day to remind people.
