The application to recycle aggregate at Whitemoss Quarry on the Alsager/Crewe and Nantwich border has raised a furore in the Alsager area. The application is contrary to five planning policies including the Cheshire waste local plan adopted in July 2007 and the regional spatial strategy.
In view of the above it is amazing that the County Council voted to approve this planning application which can only add to the misery of local residents.
However, because this application is contrary to so many planning policies the minister had to be consulted BEFORE final approval was sanctioned.
The voting on this application was 30 for 17 against.
Against: 8 Liberal Democrats, 6 Labour, 2 Independents, 1 Conservative.
For: 21 Conservatives, 7 Labour, 2 Independents.
